At Saifee Family Dentistry, we use digital X-rays that are fast, safe, and produce high-resolution images with a fraction of the radiation of older film X-rays.
Why We Use Digital X-rays
We take digital X-rays as part of routine checkups to help catch cavities, bone loss, gum disease, cysts, and impacted teeth early — often before you’d feel anything at all. They’re also part of treatment planning for procedures like root canal therapy, dental fillings, and tooth extractions, and help us track children’s jaw development and tooth eruption over time.
What to Expect
A digital X-ray takes just a few minutes. We place a small sensor near the teeth being imaged, and the resulting high-resolution image appears immediately on-screen, where Dr. Alibhai can review it with you and explain anything it shows.
We often pair digital X-rays with an intraoral camera — a small, pen-like device that lets you see the same view of your mouth that we do.
